Fillip Conference – Report
All innovative, creative and entrepreneurial businesses were urged not to miss the Fillip Conference on 21st June 2007. The event was co-chaired by Dr Karl Barnfather of Withers & Rogers, and Dr Jackie Maguire of Coller IP Management who also led the steering committee for Fillip .and was instrumental in getting the initiative underway. The West Midlands IP Forum Fillip, backed financially by AWM and fronted by Coventry University Enterprises, has significant finance available to support research and development through IP activities. The conference not only explained the value of IP through real examples from leading innovative businesses, but also provided an opportunity to compete for an IP grant from Fillip of up to £24,500. 100 businesses attended the event and several have now been successful in receiving support.
The Fillip conference provided invaluable insight into how to maximise return on investment for creativity as well as offering potential funding for Intellectual Property protection.
